All but one of the orders for Carding Cloth Co-Op One have been shipped! Here are some pics from our journey to the post office yesterday.
Miraculously, everything fit in the Fit! I love that not-so-little little car. Love, love, LOVE!
We saw this awesome yarnbombing as we were leaving the post office. It seemed appropriate.
A couple people asked me why I was willing to coordinate this project. I didn't make any money doing it* (in fact, due to the nature of PayPal fees, I ended up paying a bit of my own into it), and that seemed disturbing to some people. Like there was no value in it for me if I wasn't being paid.
I look at it differently. Soon, there will be 50 someodd new blending boards in the world. That's 50 artists, making art. I helped make that possible. I don't know what price I'd put on that, if I had to. I'm glad I don't. What I do know is that helping people feels good and art is awesome. Combining the two makes me happy. So I guess you could say it was a selfish act on my part: I did it because it made me happy to do it.
And I'm doing it again. ;-) If you're interested in making your own blending board and would like a piece of the blending board specific carding cloth from Howard Brush, check out the Carding Cloth Co-op Round Two thread on Ravelry for more details.
Then go make some art! We need more of that in the world.
*- Disclosure: I was given a piece of carding cloth as a surprise thank you from the awesome folks at Howard Brush. I didn't ask for it, but I did accept it. :-)
